CERTIFICATION AND TITLE OF THE PROGRAMME

The certificate to be awarded and the program title shall read: "NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING".

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

The National Diploma program in Accounting is designed to produce skilled accountants capable of preparing financial statements, managing accounts, and providing financial advice under supervision.

On the completion of this program, the diplomate should be able to:

  • 1. Understand the principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting.
  • 2. Acquire knowledge of bookkeeping, budgeting, and cost management.
  • 3. Demonstrate practical skills in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
  • 4. Use modern accounting software to manage financial records efficiently.

Graduates of the Accounting program are highly sought after in private businesses, public institutions, banks, and consultancy firms. They can work as accounts assistants, payroll officers, financial analysts, and tax consultants. The program also provides a solid foundation for further studies in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants with credit passes in English, Mathematics, Economics, and any other relevant subject in WAEC, SSCE, GCE, or NECO and who have attempted UTME JAMB are eligible for admission.
